Arthrex's TightRope technique provides a minimally invasive and improved method of extracranial stabilization of the cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) in dogs. It does not require cutting through bone. Instead, it uses small holes drilled into the femur and tibia, through which a synthetic biomimetic ligament-like material is passed.
It aims to optimize lateral stabilization of the stifle joint by using:
- Bone-to-bone stabilization.
- A high-strength, rigid implant for ligament repair
- A surgical technique that allows consistent, isometric placement of the implant.
As a result, the TightRope CCL system is able to ensure optimal range of motion of the joint.
