There are many methods of surgical treatment of a torn ligament. One of the more modern ones is the TTA (tibial tuberosity advancement) procedure used in our clinic, and its modifications - TTA Rapid, mTTA. The purpose of the surgery is not to restore the natural course of the ligament or replace it with a prosthesis. As a result of the operation, the biomechanics of the forces that act on the knee joint are changed, and the presence of the anterior cruciate ligament becomes unnecessary for the proper functioning of the limb. The procedure involves performing an osteotomy, which means cutting or incising the tibial tuberosity, implanting a suitable steel or titanium cage at the site of the cut, and then stabilizing the anterior portion of the tuberosity in its new position.
