Physiotherapy of dogs and cats
Animal physiotherapy is a branch of veterinary medicine that aims to improve quality of life and combat pain. Animal rehabilitation effectively accelerates recovery from accidents, surgery, neurological and degenerative diseases, diseases associated with aging, and is also an effective way to combat obesity.
Your pet charges can benefit from a range of physiotherapy treatments, such as:
Laser therapy - physical therapy using a focused beam of monochromatic light. It exhibits analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-edema properties, promotes wound healing and stimulates microcirculation. Laser therapy is an important support in post-surgical rehabilitation, but also works well in the treatment process of neurological and geriatric patients.
Hydrotherapy – is the use of pressure, temperature and weightlessness of the body in water. We have a water treadmill, which is crucial in the rehabilitation of neurological patients, orthopedic patients, obese patients and geriatric patients.
Magnetic therapy – physical therapy with magnetic fields, which have the ability to penetrate into the body's cells, allowing therapy of deeper tissues. Magnetic fields have an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-edema effect on the body, in addition, they accelerate the formation of connective tissue and bone scar tissue, which makes them a great support for animals after orthopedic surgeries, trauma and degeneration of the musculoskeletal system.
Thermotherapy – we distinguish between two types of thermotherapy: heat therapy and cold therapy. Thermotherapy finds its use in the treatment of chronic inflammation, muscle contractures, in degenerative diseases of the joints, and in the treatment of chronic pain. Cold therapy, or cryotherapy, improves venous and lymphatic drainage, reduces muscle tension, slows down nerve conduction thanks to which has an additional analgesic effect.
Therapeutic massage – one of the oldest forms of physiotherapy and has been present in medicine since ancient Greece. Over the years, the technique of massage has developed and today we can distinguish dozens of types of massage, which makes it the most widely used physiotherapy form; from muscle relaxation, to analgesic and anti-edema effects, massage can be used to prepare muscles for exercise or to relax them afterwards.
Kinesiotherapy – is an individually selected set of exercises designed to strengthen weakened muscles, improve the function and range of motion of joints and correct proprioception. Due to the highly individual nature of the exercises, it is a willing method of choice for many conditions.
Shockwave therapy – is a modern therapeutic method that uses acoustic waves to treat various conditions in animals. It is mainly used in orthopedics and rehabilitation.
Applications:
- Musculoskeletal injuries: Helps treat strains, sprains, tendon and muscle injuries.
- Joint diseases: Used for osteoarthritis and arthritis.
- Chronic pain: Stimulates healing processes and reduces pain in chronic ailments.
- Wound healing: Accelerates wound healing and tissue regeneration.Action:
Shockwaves work by generating pressure that stimulates tissues, blood circulation, as well as regenerative processes in the body. This leads to a reduction in pain and improved motor function.
