  • PAUL
    (Proximal Abducting Ulnar Osteotomy)

The PAUL procedure involves performing an osteotomy of the ulnar bone, and then through the use of a special implant to change the way the forces in the joint work.
By distributing the forces in the joint evenly, we restore its function and prevent further destruction of the medial compartment along with the coronoid process.
The first procedure was performed in 2007 by Dr. Ingo Pheil in cooperation with the company Kyon, and today we use the company's advanced locking plate system (ALPS) solution.
The PAUL procedure should be preceded by a thorough diagnosis with arthroscopy or TC examination to determine the extent of the disease.
