Dentistry
At Vetriver Clinic in Laski and Latchorzewo near Warsaw, we offer a wide range of services in the field of veterinary dentistry for dogs and cats.
We provide veterinary services at the highest level through the use of state-of-the-art equipment from iM3, a leading manufacturer of veterinary dental equipment in the world. We have a GS Deluxe Entry unit equipped with a turbine and contra-angle handpiece, which allows, among other things, polishing of tooth crowns and treatment of enamel defects and root canals. The iM3 unit is also equipped with a dental syringe that allows for rinsing the mouth with a bactericidal chlorhexidine solution and drying with compressed air.
We also have a P6 LED Piezo ultrasonic scaler from iM3, which is equipped with a rotating scaling tip. Such a solution provides the most accurate way to remove tartar and plaque, as well as the safest for enamel.

Prophylaxis
Oral hygiene, regular brushing of dogs' and cats' teeth and periodic dental check-ups are among the basic duties of four-legged guardians. Lack of proper prophylaxis can lead to dental and periodontal disease, serious disorders of internal organs, frequent pain and discomfort.
As a part of prophylaxis, we perform scaling (which is the removal of plaque using ultrasound), clean the gingival pockets, polish the crowns of the teeth, and cover the teeth with special protective wax.
Be sure to visit your veterinarian if you observe in your pet:
- lack of appetite, lethargy
- unpleasant breath
- excessive drooling
- tartar or discolored crowns
- moving, broken or worn down tooth
- supernumerary or missing tooth
- reddened gums

Conservative and surgical treatment
We care about the safety of our patients during all dental procedures
All dental procedures are performed under general anesthesia, so each patient is subject to a detailed clinical examination, blood tests, and sometimes additional diagnostic procedures ordered by the referring doctor, such as a heart echo.
During the procedure, each patient is intubated, warmed and subject to constant monitoring (heart rate, temperature, saturation). The safest form of general anesthesia is inhalation anesthesia. At the Vetriver Clinic we use an apparatus with an isoflurane vaporizer, which minimizes the risk of complications, and the patient recovers just a few minutes after the procedure is completed.
Periodontology
Chronic gingivitis and parodontal inflammation cause damage to the tissues holding the tooth and atrophic changes in the alveoli - periodontitis. The progression leads to tooth loss. The cause is a build-up of plaque.
Diagnosis is based on clinical and radiographic examination.
Periodontal treatment consists of a full dental cleaning first, followed by cleaning of the gingival pockets and possible gingivoplasty. All of these treatments are designed to allow the regeneration of periodontal tissues to eliminate tooth mobility as much as possible. For the treatment to be effective, rigorous oral hygiene is essential, meaning daily brushing of our pet's teeth and regular dental check-ups..
Tooth extractions
Simple or surgical extraction is performed on all single- or multi-rooted teeth that are subject to irreversible processes that make conservative treatment impossible. Also eligible for extraction are all supernumerary teeth, retained deciduous teeth, retained teeth in the bone, and those that cause soft tissue trauma in malocclusion.
Treatment of enamel and dentin defects
This treatment involves sealing exposed dentin tubules; the exposure causes pain and discomfort and leads to inflammation and then death of the tooth pulp.
Enamel and dentin defects can be caused by, among other things:
- underdevelopment of enamel and dentin (genetic, environmental or systemic causes),
- mechanical trauma (fracture or abrasion of the tooth).
At Vetriver Clinic, we use the best quality light-curing materials, dental instruments and a Denjoy polymerization lamp.
Treatment of oral diseases
Many endocrine (e.g. diabetes), metabolic (e.g. uremia), infectious (e.g. FIV) and immunological (e.g. lupus, pemphigus) disorders manifest themselves in diseases of the oral mucosa.
Among the most commonly diagnosed disease entities we can include:
- chronic gingivitis and stomatitis of cats
- juvenile gingivitis of cats
- ulcerative stomatitis
- eosinophilic stomatitis
Diagnosis and treatment is based on close cooperation between the dentist, internist and the owner of the sick pet.
