Endoscopic examinations of the dog and cat

At Vetriver Clinic, we perform the following endoscopic examinations:

• rhinoscopy - examination of the nasal cavities, nostrils, pharynx and larynx
• bronchoscopy
• cystoscopy
• gastroscopy

These are usually performed when foreign bodies are suspected in a dog or cat's esophagus - pieces of bone or hairballs - or in the case of various ailments related to disorders of the digestive tract. Our veterinarians also use other diagnostic techniques - 24-hour ultrasound of the dog and cat, as well as ECG, heart echo and laboratory tests.

Endoscopic examination of the throat and trachea

This is extremely useful in brachycephalic breeds.
We diagnose abnormalities such as:

• elongation of the soft palate
• anatomical abnormalities of the larynx
• collapsed trachea
• foreign bodies
• inflammatory changes
• neoplasia
